Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints Return
to Kalamazoo Speedway on Saturday Night

CASSOPOLIS, Mich. (June 5, 2014) – The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS) will be in action for the second event of the 2014 season on Saturday, June 7 at the historic 3/8-mile oval of Kalamazoo (MI) Speedway.

In addition to Winged Sprints, the racing program will also include the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Outlaw Super Late Models and Top Speed Fabrication Modified Tour.

The 2014 AVBBSS season began at Angola (IN) Motorsport Speedway on Saturday, May 31 with Jimmy McCune earning his seventh series victory. He was able to pass early race leader Jason Blonde on lap eight and then drove away from this competition to secure the win. Blonde finished second with Joe Swanson, Chris Neuenschwander and Jacob Wilson rounding out the top five

Five-time series champion Jason Blonde headlines the strong group of AVBBSS competitors at Kalamazoo. Blonde has amassed 34 series victories and ranks second on the all-time victory charts. 2010 series champion Kevin Feeney, 2013 series runner-up Joe Swanson and third generation racer Davey Hamilton Jr. will also be in the field on Saturday night.

Jo Jo Helberg will make his season debut in the Smith Motorsports No. 71. Helberg won two series events in 2013 including the lone trip to Kalamazoo last July. Current SOD points leader Dustin Daggett will also make his first start of the season. He will be aboard the Dennis Craft No. 70.

Other drivers that will be in the starting field include series veterans Mike Astraukas, Teddy Alberts, Ron Koehler, Scott O’Connor along with 2013 series winner Cody Hoover and Toledo Fast Qualifier Cody Gallogly.

Turning the best lap in qualifications at Kalamazoo will be worth $600 thanks to Jim Coffey & Son Plumbing & Heating putting up another $500 on top of the regular Hamilton Trucking bonus of $100.

On Saturday, practice begins at 2:30 p.m. with the racing program beginning at 7. Adult Admission is $20 with Students 10-15 priced at $10. Children nine and under are admitted for $5.
