An Inside Look - Angola Motorsport Speedway

CASSOPLOLIS, Mich. (August 25, 2014) — The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints return to action on Sunday, August 31 at Angola (IN) Motorsport Speedway in the Jerry Carmen Memorial. Sunday's event is one of the remaining two series events this season.

Points Update:
Michigan's Jason Blonde is on the verge of this sixth series title and second consecutive championship. He has collected seven top-five finishes along with a division leading 11 top 10s. Second in the standings is 2010 titlist Kevin Feeney, who 10 top 10s and a best showing of second at Kalamazoo (MI) Speedway. The remainder of the top five includes third-generation pilot Davey Hamilton Jr., six-time race winner Jo Jo Helberg and veteran campaigner Tom Geren from the Buckeye State.

Most Recent Event at Angola Motor Speedway (May 31, 2014):
Ohio's Jimmy McCune got to the inside of leader Jason Blonde on lap eight and then drove away from this competition to win the season opener at Angola Motorsport Speedway on Saturday, May 31. Blonde finished in second position, 3.930 seconds behind McCune. Third was Joe Swanson with Chris Neuenschwander and Jacob Wilson rounding out the top-five finishers.

News & Notes:
-Jimmy McCune scored his second consecutive victory at Angola in May. He is the only driver to win consecutive features at Angola.
-In five series events at Angola, Joe Swanson tops the list with four podium finishes with Chris Neuenschwander posting three and McCune with totaling two
-With earning the victory at Illiana (IN) Motor Speedway on August 2, Troy DeCaire won his third main event of the season.
-In just his second start since a neck injury at Toledo Speedway in June of 2014, Jason Cox drove to an impressive runner-up finish at Illiana.
-Jo Jo Helberg finished in third position at Illiana, marking his eight podium finish in night starts. It also marked the most positions gained in a feature event after gaining 12 positions in 30 laps.
-DeCaire has the longest streak of podium finishes with eight while Helberg has tallied seven consecutive podiums.
