An Inside Look - Cavalcade at Sandusky Speedway

CASSOPLOLIS, Mich. (September 22, 2014) — The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints will conclude their 2014 season at Sandusky (OH) Speedway on Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28 in the Cavalcade.

Points Update:
Jason Blonde will be crowned the 2014 champion at Sandusky. It marks his sixth series crown and second straight aboard the TNT Promotions No. 42. Blonde enters the Cavalcade with a 100 point margin over 2010 titlist Kevin Feeney. Through 13 events, Blonde has amassed eight top-five finishes and 13 top 10s. Feeney has produced 11 top 10's and won three heat races.

Third in the standings is third generation racer Davey Hamilton Jr., who has seven top fives. Fourth is six-time race winner Jo Jo Helberg with Troy DeCaire rounding out the top five. DeCaire has drove to three checkered flags during the 19th season of AVBBSS action.

Most Recent Event at Sandusky Speedway (September 29, 2013):
Aaron Pierce captured the 2013 season finale, scoring his second series victory. Pierce moved into first position with a pass on Jimmy McCune, who concluded the season with a HOSS victory at Angola and podium at Sandusky . Following Pierce across the finish line included Brian Gerster and McCune to fill out the podium. Tim Cox and Dave Baumgartner rounded out the top-five finishers.  Jason Blonde earned his fifth AVSS title, narrowly edging Joe Swanson in the final points tally.

News & Notes:
-Troy DeCaire earned the Hamilton Trucking Fast Qualifier Award in the Mike Blake Racing No. 81. The Tampa, Fla., competitor toured the .375-mile oval in 12.236 at 110.330 mph. A season best 25 cars attempted to make the 20-car starting field.
-Aaron Pierce won the Jerry Carmen Memorial at Angola (IN) Motorsport Speedway, collecting this third series victory and first this season. Pierce became the sixth different winner of the 2014 campaign.
-Jimmy McCune finished in second spot at Angola, narrowly missing a second consecutive Labor Day Weekend victory and third straight win at the Northern Indiana Short Track.
-Geoff Kaiser drove to an impressive third-place finish, after starting in 12th spot. The podium finish is the best performance for the Speed Chasers No. 64 team this season.
