CASSOPOLIS, Mich. (September 25, 2014) — The 19th season of the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints concludes at Sandusky (OH) Speedway on Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28 in the Cavalcade.
The Winged Sprints of the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints will have rounds of practice on Saturday prior to Hamilton Trucking Qualifications and the cap off the day with heat races that now include full payouts for each competitor. On Sunday, the 30-lap feature will take place.
Jason Blonde will be crowned the 2014 series champion at Sandusky. It marks his sixth series crown and second straight aboard the TNT Promotions No. 42. Blonde enters the Cavalcade with a 100 point margin over 2010 titlist Kevin Feeney. Through 13 events, Blonde has amassed eight top-five finishes and 13 top 10s. Feeney has produced 11 top 10's and won three heat races.
Third in the standings is third generation racer Davey Hamilton Jr., who has seven top fives. Fourth is six-time race winner Jo Jo Helberg with Troy DeCaire rounding out the top five. DeCaire has drove to three checkered flags in 2014.
Drivers that have scored feature victories include Jimmy McCune (Angola), Helberg (Kalamazoo, Dixie, Toledo, Winchester, M-40, Dixie), Ryan Litt (Toledo), DeCaire (M-40, Grundy County, Illiana), Jerry Caryer (New Paris) and Aaron Pierce (Angola).
In the most recent series event at Sandusky on September 29, 2013, Aaron Pierce captured the season finale. Pierce moved into first position with a pass on Jimmy McCune, who concluded the season with a HOSS victory at Angola and podium at Sandusky. Following Pierce across the finish line included Brian Gerster and McCune to fill out the podium. Tim Cox and Dave Baumgartner rounded out the top-five finishers.
On Saturday, practice begins at 2 p.m. with qualifying set for 5 and heat races starting at 7. Tickets for Adults are $12 with Kids (6-12) priced at $5. Five and Under are Free.
On Sunday, practice is scheduled for noon with feature racing going green at 2. Tickets for Adults are $17 with Kids (6-12) priced at $7. Five and Under are Free.
