CASSOPOLIS, Mich. (December 12, 2014) – The most powerful name in short track racing tires, Hoosier Racing Tires, will continue its successful partnership with the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS) and King of the Wing Sprint Car Shootout for the 2015 racing season.
Hoosier Racing Tire has been the official tire of the AVBBSS since Michigan Short Track Legend Gary Fedewa earned the initial pavement series victory in May of 1997 at Auto City Speedway in Clio, Mich. Since that initial event, Hoosier has helped provide some of the best Sprint Car Racing in the country. During the early portion of the partnership, Hoosier and AVBBSS developed the right rear tire that is continued to be utilized by many Pavement Sprint Car series today.
In 2014, Jason Blonde earned his fifth AVBBSS championship. He wrapped up the title with earning the victory in the season finale at Sandusky (OH) Speedway in September. Other drivers to record wins included California's Jo Jo Helberg (6), Florida's Troy DeCaire (2), Canada's Ryan Litt (1), Ohio's Jimmy McCune (1) and Indiana's Aaron Pierce (1).
Helberg won the inaugural King of the Wing championship with scoring four of the six victories. Other drivers to visit the winner's circle included DeCaire and two-time Pay Less Little 500 Champion Jacob Wilson. Behind Helberg in the final standings included Davey Hamilton Jr., Tim Skoglund, Ken Hamilton and Kyle Edwards.
Hoosier Racing Tire continues to be the tire of choice in major short track events including the prestigious Pay Less Little 500, the crown jewel event of Pavement Sprint Car Racing.
