Aaron Pierce Sets New World Record, Dominates at South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (June 3, 2017) – Two-time Champion Aaron Pierce set a new World Record on a quarter-mile track in Qualifying and then won the feature at South Bend (Ind.) Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 3 in the second event of the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints presented by Royal Purple Synthetic Oil.

The 25-lap feature began with Chris Neuenschwander grabbing the lead over Pierce and Geoff Kaiser. On the second circuit Neuenschwander dropped out of action with Pierce taking the lead. The Daleville, Ind. competitor led the final 24 circuits to earn his ninth series victory.

Kaiser crossed the finish line in second position with Nick Landon earning a career-best third place finish. Geren and Neuenschwander completed the top five finishers.

In preliminary action, Neuenschwander won Dowker Engines Heat #1 over Geren and Kaiser. In qualifying, Pierce set new record on quarter-mile track with a lap of 9.894 seconds at 90.964 mph.

The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints presented by Royal Purple Synthetic Oil is back in action on Saturday, June 10 at Auto City (Mich.) Speedway.
