Under beautiful sunny skies Jason Blonde set fast time for the evening and rolled a ten for the invert in the big thirty lap feature. All sixteen cars started the racing in two heat races. Veteran dirt track racer Davey Brown, driving Tracy Rice's #9 took the win in the United Trailer Heat #1. Jason Blonde finished second with his teammate Bill Tyler third and Jeff Bloom was fourth.
In the Dowker Engine heat race it was 16 year old, Owens Petroleum Rookie of the year, Kyle Flint, taking the win from the pole with Canadian drivers, Scott O'Conner, Ryan Litt, and Mike Ling, rounding out the top 4. Congrats to Kyle on his first ever A.V.B.B.S.S. win.
With Jason rolling a ten invert that put Scott O'Conner in the #23 car and Ike" The Iceman" Beasley on the front row for the thirty lap feature. As the sixteen drivers took the green flag from our starter Bart Compou, the field "bonzied" into turn 1, rookie Kyle Flint lost it in between the first and second turn gathering up Bill Jacoby in the #69 car. A complete restart with Jacoby done for the night was called for by race director Jerry Carmen, with the "Iceman" jumping out to lead followed by Jeff Bloom in the #26 car and Dennis Craft in the #70. That held until lap #4 when Ryan Litt in the #07 took over the third spot. On lap #8, Litt had taken over second with Beasley still in the lead, Bloom now was running third with Craft in the #4 spot. On lap #12 Litt took the lead and looked to run away with the race, but on lap 16, Bloom took back the second followed by Beasley, Craft, Bill Tyler, Mike Ling, and Blonde. On lap 23, Bloom's car broke with him spinning out of the number four turn. That tightened up the field until lap twenty four when Litts car broke sending him to the pits. Blonde passed three cars to take over second before the yellow was thrown. On lap twenty five Jason grabbed the lead with Craft 2nd, Ling third, Beasley fourth. Lap twenty seven brought Ling to second but not enough race to catch the blue #42, Dowker Engine, Anne Ray Chevrolet, UAW, Pollack Glass Special with Jason taking his second win of the season. Mike Ling was second, third went to Dennis Craft, fourth to Ike Beasley, fifth was Bill Tyler, sixth,Curt Shumaker in the #75.
The next stops for the Supersprints is Friday June 13th, at Toledo Speedway and Saturday June 14th, at Auto City in Clio.
