Jeff Bloom (26) wins at Berlin. Chad Goff (9) sets new qualification record.
Marne, Michigan
August 30,2008
Jeff Bloom (26) wins at Berlin. Chad Goff shatters track
record for AVSS in Qualifying.
A big night of racing was on hand at the Berlin Raceway Park
in Marne, Michigan. AVSS had on hand 21 of the fastest
short track show cars in the world to bring great racing to
Mid-Michigan for the holiday weekend. Chad Goff(9) in
qualifying took a first lap time of 13.004, then kept the
pace up around the oval to make a blistering run of 12.814.
This equates to 123.05 mph. The old record was set in 2007
by the #50 of Brian Gerster who timed in at 12.943. Jeff
Bloom feature winner told a good story in his precision
driving as he traveled methodically thru traffic and taking
the opportunity on a restart in lap 8 to pass the #99 of Ike
Beasley. Jeff lapped 6 cars in his pursuit of the AVSS
checkers. The crowd went wild seeing what these cars can
do. A full autograph session was held on the front stretch
of the track right after qualifications giving the fans an
up close view of the cars and the stars of AVSS. Check out
our website at http://www.supersprints.com for current information.
Your next chance to see the cars and stars of AVSS will be
at Dixie Speedway on Saturday 9/06/08.
